Verstappen voices frustration over downshifts in Brazil practice

Source: PlanetF1 · · added 30 minutes ago

Max Verstappen was third quickest in both practice sessions at Interlagos on Friday, but he ended his second session six minutes early after repeated complaints about downshift problems with his Red Bull. He was heard describing the downshifts as "unacceptable" during the session, and finished the first practice 0.236 seconds behind Lando Norris.

Verstappen has previously raised concerns about his upshifts and downshifts this season. On Thursday he explained that he flags such issues because he believes small adjustments can find more lap time, and that he is never satisfied with the car as it stands.

Red Bull's head of race strategy, Hannah Schmitz, said the team would fit a different wheel for the rest of the weekend and was looking into several changes on Verstappen's car ahead of Saturday's final practice session.
