Hamilton and Leclerc struggle for balance in Sao Paulo practice
Ferrari had a difficult Friday at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton struggling to find the right balance and performance from the SF-26. Rookie Dino Beganovic's opening practice session was cut short by a technical issue after 11 laps, leaving him 21st with a best time of 1:14.357.
Hamilton finished fourth in FP1 but was sixth in FP2 after a more difficult session. He pointed to the bumpy and slippery track, which made it hard to get the tyres into the right window, and said the team would analyse the data overnight ahead of qualifying.
Leclerc returned in FP2 after missing the opening session and finished seventh, seven-tenths of a second behind session leader Kimi Antonelli. He struggled to find the right balance and could not put together a competitive flying lap.
