Verstappen takes P2 despite severe car handling problems
Max Verstappen climbed from 21st on the grid to finish second, but he was deeply unhappy with his car's balance for much of the race. After the finish he criticised the handling over the team radio, describing the car as a disaster to drive.
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies acknowledged the criticism and praised Verstappen's performance in difficult conditions, saying the team would get to the bottom of the problem. Verstappen congratulated the team on a good effort after he and team mate Isack Hadjar finished on the podium, marking Verstappen's eighth consecutive podium finish.
Several drivers were also mystified by their cars' handling during the rain-affected race, with both Mercedes drivers reporting severe handling problems immediately after their pit stops.
