Perez under investigation after Brazil practice incident
Sergio Perez faces a Formula 1 stewards investigation after an unusual incident during final practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. He was seen throwing an object out of his Cadillac in the closing stages of the final hour of running on Saturday, and the FIA has summoned him over allegedly driving unsafe collision.
Asked by his race engineer Carlo Pasetti what he had thrown, Perez said he was not sure, explaining that something had come off and that it was a small box where the radio cables are placed. Perez ended FP3 20th fastest.
He is set to start Sunday's grand prix from the back of the grid after Cadillac fitted new power unit components to his car.
