McLaren to bring front wing, rear wing and floor upgrades to São Paulo Grand Prix

Source: F1i.com · · added 3 hours ago

McLaren is introducing upgrades to its MCL40 at this weekend's São Paulo Grand Prix, with revisions to the front and rear wings and elements of the floor. The team's chief technical officer for aerodynamics, Peter Prodromou, said the changes are part of the normal development cycle and aim to help McLaren make up ground over the remaining races.

The revised front wing is expected to carry over into the launch specification of McLaren's 2027 car, according to Prodromou. The team has been on the back foot against Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull since its Hungarian Grand Prix upgrade package, which helped Lando Norris win in Hungary and Zandvoort.

McLaren trails Red Bull by 17 points in the battle for third in the Constructors' standings, having collected 59 points across the last five rounds compared with Red Bull's 152.
