Lawson says he doesn't know what more he can do to secure Racing Bulls seat

Source: Formula1.com · · added 2 hours ago

Liam Lawson has said he does not know "what else they want me to do" as his future at Racing Bulls remains unresolved. Team Principal Alan Permane has said the team has three contenders for two seats in 2027: Lawson, team mate Arvid Lindblad and Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov.

Lawson has scored three P7 finishes in Bahrain, Singapore and Mexico and sits ninth in the standings as the best of the rest driver, 42 points clear of Alpine's Pierre Gasly. Racing Bulls are fifth in the Constructors' Championship, which would be their best result as a team. Lawson said he feels the season has been "a lot stronger" than his earlier stints in F1.

With most teams having confirmed their 2027 line-ups, Lawson acknowledged that options are limited if he is replaced, and he would likely need to consider a reserve role to stay in F1.
