Aston Martin's Krack expects F1 to avoid risks over Middle East finale
Uncertainty over whether Formula 1 will race in Qatar and Abu Dhabi for the final rounds of the 2026 season continues to grow. Aston Martin Chief Trackside Officer Mike Krack said that logistics and parts are not a major concern, but that questions from staff and their families are a valid part of the discussion. He blamed media coverage for creating unnecessary fear and distraction, noting that some news is accurate and some is less serious.
Krack said he was confident that F1 and the FIA would take the correct action if there was a serious risk, and that he would be surprised if they took unnecessary risks. He said the series was still evaluating the situation and had set deadlines that had not yet passed. The backup option, if the races in the Middle East do not go ahead, is Imola for the final round.
Krack acknowledged that no team can always give full reassurance, as the situation is unclear even to those involved.
