Hamilton urges Ferrari to fix Leclerc clashes after Mexico City lap-one incident

Source: RacingNews365 · · added 5 hours ago

Lewis Hamilton has called on Ferrari to find a way to stop wheel-to-wheel battles with Charles Leclerc costing the team strong results. The two drivers emerged from Turn 1 at the Mexico City Grand Prix in first and second, but both ran wide at Turn 4, allowing Max Verstappen through. Hamilton dropped to third, and Leclerc was handed a five-second time penalty for going off track and gaining an advantage.

Hamilton said the team had lost the win and points, and that the situation affected many people at the factory and the Tifosi. He stressed that drivers race for the wider team, and said Ferrari still secured points to hold second in the constructors' standings. Hamilton added that the matter needed discussing internally, and that the team would address it privately.
