Antonelli reveals title celebrations after becoming youngest F1 champion
Kimi Antonelli has described his celebrations after being crowned Formula 1 world champion following his third-place finish at the Mexico City Grand Prix. The 20-year-old Italian became the sport's youngest-ever drivers' title winner with four rounds of the 2026 season still remaining.
Antonelli said a party held on Sunday night in Mexico was a special occasion and that he did not hold back, although he admitted he was not used to drinking and felt the effects quickly. He said his father and some friends were there, and that the team celebrated together.
He also said he received congratulations from many figures across the paddock, including Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, as well as Valentino Rossi, Jannik Sinner and retired four-time champion Sebastian Vettel, whose video message he particularly enjoyed.
