Leclerc says Ferrari talks were needed after Mexico clash

Source: RacingNews365 · · added 15 minutes ago

Charles Leclerc says a meeting with team principal Fred Vasseur and team-mate Lewis Hamilton in São Paulo was needed to air his frustration after a difficult week. The talks followed a first-lap contact between the Ferrari drivers at Turn 4 in the Mexico City Grand Prix, the latest flashpoint between them this year after a similar incident at Monza. Leclerc said the timing, coinciding with the birth of his first child, had made it hard to address the matter sooner.

Leclerc described the matter as now fully settled and said he did not expect it to be discussed much further. On track, Ferrari struggled in Friday practice in Brazil, with Hamilton sixth and Leclerc seventh, and both reporting a car that felt out of balance. Leclerc said the problems were mainly in the corners rather than on the straights, where the team already knows it is weaker.

Leclerc said he had a number of ideas for changes ahead of qualifying, but was unsure whether they would be enough to fix the issues.
