Camara eyes learning from Bearman on surprise F1 debut

Rafael Camara says he is looking forward to learning from Ollie Bearman as he makes an unexpected Formula 1 debut for Haas at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Camara has been drafted in after Esteban Ocon was confirmed to be leaving Haas for the rest of the season, bringing forward the Brazilian's planned arrival in F1 from 2027.

Camara was already due to make his first practice outing for Ferrari at Interlagos, but he will now race at his home event at short notice. He said Bearman, who is also a Ferrari Driver Academy colleague and his team-mate at Haas, could be a valuable reference. The pair have known each other since they joined the Ferrari programme, though they were in different junior categories at the time.

Camara also said he is looking forward to the support of Brazilian fans, which he has felt increasingly through his junior career. He joins Gabriel Bortoleto in representing the nation at home this weekend.
