Verstappen warns Antonelli off-track duties after first title
Max Verstappen has warned Kimi Antonelli that the off-track demands facing a newly crowned Formula 1 champion are "not nice". Antonelli became the youngest champion in F1 history after finishing third behind Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen, a four-time champion with Red Bull, recalled the commitments that followed his own first title, saying the day after was a whirlwind of media duties but that he was prepared to deal with it. He suggested Antonelli, who he described as humble and normal, would not change much.
Fernando Alonso, a two-time champion, noted that the media and commercial demands around a title have grown considerably since his own wins two decades ago, when a title meant a home press conference and a visit to the factory.
