Ralf Schumacher criticises Hamilton's radio complaints after Mexico City Ferrari clash
Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher has criticised Lewis Hamilton's radio messages during the Mexico City Grand Prix, where Hamilton and Charles Leclerc clashed through the opening corners. Both Ferrari cars ended up off the asphalt at Turn 4, and Leclerc received a five-second time penalty from the FIA for keeping his foot on the grass to hold his position.
Schumacher said he had no problem with the on-track clash, describing it as a racing situation. He objected to what followed, saying Hamilton should not have demanded a penalty for his team-mate over the radio. He also criticised the tone of Hamilton's comments to the pitwall, calling it a threat, and said Fred Vasseur appeared to be losing control of the team.
Schumacher said the matter needed urgent attention, suggesting the team's hierarchy should be re-established before the Brazilian Grand Prix.
