Bottas says Cadillac seat is safe despite Herta rumours
Valtteri Bottas has said he remains relaxed about his future at Cadillac, despite speculation that Colton Herta could replace him for 2027. The Finn holds a multi-year deal that includes an option for 2027, but Cadillac has yet to formally trigger it, which has fuelled talk in the paddock.
Bottas said he was surprised by the level of noise around his position, adding that he understood the team had been happy with his work. He noted that decisions on the future must be approved by the board, a meeting he believes has yet to take place, and said he had been convinced nothing had changed.
Bottas also described it as odd if Cadillac were to question his performances after a season spent following team instructions. Mercedes reserve Fred Vesti has also been linked to the seat, but Bottas said he expected nothing to change.
