Norris tops Brazil FP1 ahead of Antonelli
Lando Norris edged reigning champion Kimi Antonelli to the top of the first practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix, setting a time of 1m11.717s, just 0.082s quicker. McLaren was the only team to bring upgrades to Brazil, with a new front and rear wing, modified floor furniture and a beam wing.
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton completed a top four featuring four different teams, all within just over three tenths of a second. George Russell was fifth. Colton Herta also completed the final FP1 running he needed to earn his F1 superlicence point, a task that became necessary after an error in calculations linked to IndyCar's website.
Freddie Slater's Audi stopped after just seven laps, bringing out an early red flag, while Ferrari's Dino Beganovic lost time to a floor change and a car problem that forced him to abort a lap.
