Payne leads Sandown 500 playoff picture as Feeney, Kostecki and Mostert chase Adelaide places
Three drivers enter the Sandown 500 needing near-perfect results to secure a playoff spot. Matt Payne leads the Supercars standings for Grove Racing, with Triple Eight's Broc Feeney second, 72 and 42 points clear of the cut-off line respectively.
Brodie Kostecki of Dick Johnson Racing and Chaz Mostert of Walkinshaw TWG hold the final two playoff positions, with Kostecki 18 points ahead. Anton De Pasquale of Team 18, who finished second at Sandown last year, sits 30 points behind Mostert. Will Brown and Cameron Waters are also outside the playoff places.
The event runs from November 6 to 8 at Sandown International Motor Raceway, with wild weather forecast and the Mustang package being used at the circuit for the first time. Each race is 250 km over 79 laps.
