Kostecki wins Sandown opener as Triple Eight struggles

Kostecki won the 79-lap race at Sandown, a result that secured him a place in the Adelaide round. It was a difficult afternoon for Triple Eight Race Engineering, with neither of its Ford Mustang drivers finishing in the top 10.

Feeney ran as high as third during the race but dropped to 12th in the closing stages. His teammate Will Brown spun out, adding to the team's problems on the day.
