Alex Marquez has shoulder surgery and begins recovery at home

Gresini rider Alex Marquez has undergone successful surgery on his right shoulder, which had been affecting his performance since a crash at Barcelona in May.

Marquez had been injured on 17 May at Barcelona, when he collided with Pedro Acosta's KTM. He revealed after finishing third in last Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix that he was set to undergo the operation to address the problems the injury had caused.

The operation has been completed and Marquez has now started his recovery at home.
