Holgado wins Qatar Moto2 race as Ortola takes second
Daniel Holgado returned to victory at Lusail, pulling away after taking the lead on lap 14 and finishing 2.265 seconds clear. It was his first win since the second round in Brazil, and he made it back-to-back podiums.
Alex Escrig started from pole for the first time, but lost the lead to Holgado and finished third, his second podium in the class after Silverstone earlier in the year. Ivan Ortola, who started 13th, came through the field to take second for a Kalex 1-2.
Daniel Munoz recovered from third early on to take fifth, while Manuel Gonzalez was penalised but recovered best from the grid penalties handed out after Q2. Izan Guevara retired from the top ten with a technical issue, five laps from the end.
