Lone Star Racing is moving to a full-time programme in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class for the 2027 season, expanding beyond its long-standing role as an Endurance Cup entry.
The Texas-based team, founded by Dan Knox and led by A.J. Petersen, will field the #80 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Dutch talent Lin Hodenius and Irish sports car driver James Roe.
