Fortescue Zero launches Season 13 car in London
Fortescue Zero Racing launched its Formula E Season 13 car in London on Friday, ahead of its maiden campaign in the championship. The event was held at the National Centre for CircusArts, with Claire Williams hosting and speakers including Team Principal Jim Wright, new driver Dan Ticktum and Executive Chairman Dr Andrew Forrest.
The team was formed in a short space of time, with only 60 days between the decision to secure the assets of the now defunct PS Penske team and launch day. Wright told Motorsport Week that the team is building two cars from scratch, as none of the Penske assets were transferable beyond the team licence and some personnel. Freight is due to be sent to Spain by Wednesday evening.
Fortescue Zero also signed Dan Ticktum, whom Wright described as a proven race winner with fine race craft. Wright said the team will place more emphasis on qualifying next year.
