Verstappen insists he remains F1's best after second title miss
Max Verstappen says he still considers himself Formula 1's best driver, despite missing out on the world championship for a second consecutive season. After four straight titles, the Dutchman has watched Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli claim the last two championships. Speaking to Dutch journalists after qualifying in Brazil, he said he was satisfied with his own performances this year, despite Red Bull's early struggles with its car and new power unit.
Verstappen also dismissed criticism from Johnny Herbert, who had compared him to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde following his practice clash with Liam Lawson. He said the matter had been resolved privately, but added that Lawson, who is still fighting to keep his Racing Bulls seat, needed to be more careful.
