Bortoleto and Lindblad hit with Brazilian GP grid penalties
The FIA has confirmed grid penalties for Gabriel Bortoleto and Arvid Lindblad ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Bortoleto, racing at his home event, receives a 10-place penalty for taking a sixth Energy Store and a sixth Control Electronics Unit after qualifying.
Lindblad, of Racing Bulls, is also handed a 10-place penalty, having taken a seventh Internal Combustion Engine and a sixth Turbocharger. The FIA said both penalties were imposed under Article B8.2.8b of the F1 regulations, with each additional element carrying a five-place grid penalty.
The pair join Lewis Hamilton, who has a 65-place penalty, Max Verstappen, who has a 30-place penalty, George Russell and Sergio Perez in the list of penalties for the weekend. Many drivers have now exhausted their allocation of power unit components for the 2026 season.
