Perez warned and Bearman reprimanded at Brazilian GP
Cadillac driver Sergio Perez has received a formal warning from the FIA stewards after throwing a plastic object from his car during FP3 at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The stewards said the item was a cable organiser that dislodged during the session, and that throwing material onto the track during a live session is not appropriate.
Perez will start Sunday's race from the back of the grid at Interlagos after exceeding his engine component pool for the 2026 season. He has moved on to a fifth internal combustion engine, fifth turbocharger and fourth MGU-K, which totals a 30-place grid drop.
Haas driver Oliver Bearman was handed a driving reprimand for reversing in the pit lane under its own power at the start of qualifying. It is his second driving-related reprimand of the season, with five such reprimands triggering an automatic 10-place grid penalty.
