McLaren brings new wings and floor parts to Sao Paulo GP
McLaren is the only team bringing upgrades to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos, introducing a new front wing, rear wing, beam wing and small floor changes. The squad says the parts are intended to improve the car now while also previewing elements of its 2027 package.
The team is 17 points behind Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship going into the race, where Lando Norris starts from pole position. McLaren's chief technical officer for aerodynamics, Peter Prodromou, said the aim was to improve the car and help in the fight for third in the standings. He also said the concept of the new front wing is expected to carry over into the launch specification of next year's car.
The new front wing blends its lower section into the endplate foot and has reshaped supports, changes intended to make it more consistent in delivering grip.
