Russell backs Hamilton's 'built differently' remark ahead of 400th start

Lewis Hamilton has described himself as "built differently" and says retirement is not on his radar, a claim his former Mercedes teammate George Russell supports. Hamilton is set to start his 400th Grand Prix at the Brazilian Grand Prix this weekend, joining Fernando Alonso in the F1 400 club.

Russell praised Hamilton's achievements on and off track and said his lack of a year off reflects his character. He also contrasted Hamilton's focus on Formula 1 with Max Verstappen's growing involvement in GT racing, saying there is no right or wrong approach.

Lando Norris, the 2025 world champion, said he has enjoyed seeing Hamilton fight Charles Leclerc this season, with Hamilton's form improving under the new 2026 regulations.
