McLaren lead Brazilian GP practice as Ferrari struggle
McLaren's upgrade package appeared to work well on the first day of track running at Interlagos, with Lando Norris describing the car as a little more straightforward to drive. Team racing director Randy Singh said it was very likely the new front wing would stay on the car for the rest of the weekend, and Oscar Piastri was also quick after missing the first practice session.
Ferrari had a difficult Friday, finishing sixth and seventh in the second session. Charles Leclerc said the car felt poor in the corners, while team boss Fred Vasseur acknowledged the team still has a lot of work to do on the balance.
McLaren still see room for improvement, with Norris saying the team remains about two-tenths off Kimi Antonelli's Mercedes, and the focus now turns to optimising qualifying.
