Lawson's F1 future remains unclear at Racing Bulls
Racing Bulls has extended the contract of team boss Alan Permane until 2031, but the future of driver Liam Lawson remains uncertain. Lawson, who is out of contract at the end of the year, described his situation as "pretty blurry at the moment" and said there was little indication of a decision from the team.
The team has yet to confirm whether Lawson, rookie Arvid Lindblad or Formula 2 title contender Nikola Tsolov will race for it in 2026. Lawson is ninth in the drivers' championship on 83 points and has outscored Lindblad 69-32 when their points are compared across the season, while Permane has said speed, pace and the development of young talent all count in the decision.
Red Bull, which has previously dropped Lawson from its senior team, does not appear to see him as a long-term option for either squad, leaving his place for next season open.
