Hamilton and Schumacher lead F1 all-time race wins list
Lewis Hamilton has overtaken Michael Schumacher's total of race wins, having equalled the German's seven world championships by 2020. Hamilton won four races in his rookie season with McLaren in 2007, when he finished just one point behind the title. He signed a multi-year deal to join Ferrari in 2025 and has no intention of stopping yet.
Schumacher set a previously unthinkable benchmark with 91 race victories and seven titles. He won his first Grand Prix for Benetton at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix, then took his first 19 wins and two championships with the team. After joining Ferrari in 1996 he won 48 races on his way to five straight titles between 2000 and 2004.
Max Verstappen is also named in the list as the reigning World Champion, with 15 wins in 2022 enough for the sport's sixth-greatest win total at that point.
