Aston Martin's Krack criticises media over Middle East uncertainty ahead of Qatar and Abu Dhabi
Aston Martin's chief trackside engineering officer, Mike Krack, has accused the media of generating unnecessary distraction and fear over the uncertain situation in the Middle East. Formula 1 is scheduled to finish its season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi in late November and early December, but the conflict between the United States and Iran means plans could still change at short notice.
Krack said logistics and parts were not a major concern, and that the main question was whether staff would be willing to travel. He acknowledged the team could not give complete guarantees to employees, as some families had raised questions. He expressed confidence that F1 and the FIA, which have better information than the team, would take the correct action if a serious risk emerged, and said he would be surprised if they took risks.
