Antonelli says parents still control his pocket money
Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, who has won his first Formula 1 title in Mexico, says he has no complaints about his parents still controlling his spending despite his growing fortune. The 20-year-old Italian said he spends most of his money on everyday items such as food, household goods and petrol, and on new tracks for his home simulator, which provides most of his entertainment.
Antonelli admitted that his parents keep a closer eye on the cars he wants to buy, adding that there are a couple he really wants. He also said he cannot imagine racing for any team other than Mercedes, which signed him when he was 11 and has always believed in him. He did not rule out a move to Ferrari later in his career, saying the future is still very distant.
