Toyota confirms six drivers for 2027 WRC with part-time Rovanperä seat
Toyota has confirmed six drivers for next season's World Rally Championship, with one of them competing on a part-time basis. Two-time champion Kalle Rovanperä will drive a GR Yaris Rally1 alongside Ott Tänak and Takamoto Katsuta for Gazoo Racing Toyota, while Elfyn Evans, Oliver Solberg and Sami Pajari will drive GR Celica Rally1s for Toyota Racing.
Sébastien Ogier was absent from the launch event, but sporting director Kaj Lindström said he remains part of the family and has a strong desire to do some rallies next year. Team principal Jari-Matti Latvala explained that Toyota will always field six drivers per rally, with the Gazoo Racing seat offered to young talents or drivers from Toyota's GR Yaris Rally2 programme during the season.
Rovanperä said his calendar will cover roughly half the events, and he expects his season to begin in Monte Carlo.
