Pirro backs Ducati's young rider push as Torres wins Future Champ

Ducati celebrated Jesus Torres at EICMA after he won the inaugural Ducati V2 Future Champ series, a result that secures his place in the 2027 Supersport World Championship with the Renzi team.

Michele Pirro said Ducati will continue the series in 2027 and will introduce the 250 Desmo single-cylinder engine along with a Pre-Future Champ series for riders aged 13 to 16, with the calendar to be announced in the coming weeks. He compared the approach to Toto Wolff's long-term investment in Kimi Antonelli in Formula 1.

Pirro also said Marc Marquez's tenth title bid has had its share of surprises, noting the difficult situation at Mugello and that the team kept working to give Marquez the best package.
