Martin targets Marquez gap in Qatar despite broken radius

Jorge Martin says his goal for the Qatar race is to finish within 30 points of championship leader Marc Marquez and remain in contention for the title. The Aprilia rider is still not at full fitness after fracturing his radius in the Sprint Race in Australia.

Martin said he feels much better than he did at Sepang in Malaysia, where he felt he was not ready to race. He said he has been working hard to reach the best possible condition and will try to race in Qatar, adding that he does not yet know how much his riding will be limited.

He described the risk of a crash that could worsen the fracture, but said riding the bike will not make the injury worse, and that he feels it is healing.
