Martin pushes on through wrist pain to reach Q2 in Qatar

Source: GPone · · added 30 minutes ago

Jorge Martin says he has so much adrenaline that he pushes on even when the pain is severe. He broke his wrist ten days ago in Australia, which forced him to withdraw from the Sepang round, but he completed 26 laps in Qatar and advanced directly to Q2 with the seventh-fastest time, setting a personal best on the Losail circuit.

Martin said that had he felt this way in Malaysia, the situation would have been different, and the title fight could look more open. Marc Marquez currently holds a commanding position in the championship, and Martin would need to limit the points deficit to around 30 to keep his title hopes alive. He admitted that the fall in Australia had cost him confidence, though he improved steadily through the day, lap by lap.

He said Sunday remains a question mark, as he has not yet completed many consecutive laps, and his wrist must hold up over the full weekend. He hopes to take another step forward on Saturday.
