Martin pushes on through wrist pain at Losail

Source: GPone · · added 50 minutes ago

Jorge Martin has said he is riding through considerable pain after breaking his wrist in Australia ten days ago. The injury forced him to retire at Sepang, but at Losail he completed 26 laps, progressed directly to Q2 with the seventh-fastest time and set his personal best at the circuit.

Martin said that had he felt as he did at Losail a week earlier in Malaysia, the situation would have been different. He admitted that he lost confidence after the crash, but said he felt better lap by lap during the day and believes the Aprilia is very fast at the venue.

Marc Marquez currently holds a commanding position in the 2026 championship, and Martin must limit his rival's gains over the remaining rounds to keep the title fight alive. Martin said he would reassess how he feels before Sunday's race.
