Marquez Could Clinch MotoGP Title at Qatar Grand Prix
Marc Marquez heads to the Qatar Grand Prix with a 44-point lead over Jorge Martin and 67 over Marco Bezzecchi, with the Lusail round the third-to-last of the season. A further 30-point gain on Martin and 8 on Bezzecchi would be enough for Marquez to secure the title this weekend, and he noted that Ducati has won nine times at the circuit.
Marquez said Qatar is not one of his favourite tracks but that he was fast and competitive there last year, and that the strategy would not change as the team works day by day. Francesco Bagnaia, who won at Lusail in 2024, said he wants to move past a less successful Malaysian round and keep closing the gap to the leaders.
