Jorge Martin's MotoGP medical review in Qatar moved to Friday
Aprilia rider Jorge Martin will undergo his medical review on Friday at the Lusail circuit, rather than Thursday as expected, with MotoGP Medical Director Dr Angel Charte due to assess him at 12:15. Aprilia has not given a reason for the delay. Martin needs clearance before attempting a return from the right radius fracture he sustained at Phillip Island.
Martin withdrew from the Sepang weekend after citing a lack of strength. Marc Marquez won both races in Malaysia, putting the Ducati rider within reach of the title in Qatar. Martin can afford to lose no more than 29 points to Marquez across the weekend to keep his championship hopes alive.
Raul Fernandez and Fermin Aldeguer were both declared fit to ride in Qatar on Thursday. The first MotoGP track session is scheduled for 14:45.
