Di Giannantonio frustrated after Malaysian MotoGP round despite Asian sprint podiums
Fabio Di Giannantonio said he was frustrated and disappointed after the Malaysian Grand Prix, where he had expected more from the Asian rounds. He described persistent air bubble problems on the front, which left him with no grip or feel from the first lap and made leaning, particularly to the right, impossible. He added that top-speed issues from the previous day had not been resolved and that the front tyre was blistering.
Di Giannantonio had finished third in the sprints in Indonesia and Australia, but said Malaysia undid the work done over the weekend. He said he would now refocus and stay positive over the final stretch of the championship, and described the upcoming Qatar round as an incredible place to race, though at the wrong time for him.
Franco Morbidelli was more satisfied, securing a top-ten finish that he said was his third of the year. He said the team had worked twice as hard to help him achieve it.
