Acosta reflects on Aldeguer-Bagnaia crash and Sprint
Pedro Acosta finished sixth in the Sprint at Lusail after a difficult Friday, when he failed to reach Q2 and finished outside the top 10. He secured a third-row grid spot for Sunday and was again the best-placed KTM rider.
Acosta also commented on two incidents in the short race. He described the contact between Marc Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi as a racing incident, and said he had not seen such a bad crash up close in MotoGP for a long time when Fermin Aldeguer and Francesco Bagnaia collided. He hoped Bagnaia would recover quickly.
Reflecting on his own weekend, Acosta said Q2 went well until a mechanical issue, and that a series of small problems had made the weekend harder. He also said his second Sprint start was a struggle to get the tyres working.
