Giannantonio edges Martin's Aprilia to Losail Sprint second

Fabio Di Giannantonio finished second in the MotoGP Sprint at Losail, behind Marc Marquez, with Ducati claiming a one-two. Di Giannantonio said he was pleased with the result but a little frustrated that he had run the medium tyre rather than the soft, which he had wanted.

He said the Ducatis performed strongly on the soft tyres, closing the gap on the Aprilias and beating them, while the medium tyre favoured Ducati in terms of managing wear and entering corners. Di Giannantonio said he expected Aprilia to be strong on Sunday, with Martin having been impressive, and that he would aim to maintain his pace to contend for the podium.

He also recalled that Losail was the track where he took his first MotoGP victory, and said he enjoyed its demanding corners.
