Sao Paulo Grand Prix extends Formula 1 deal until 2035
Formula 1 will continue to race at Interlagos until at least 2035, after the Sao Paulo Grand Prix agreed a five-year contract extension. The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace has hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix, now called the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, since it first joined the calendar in 1973.
F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali said Brazil is an important part of the sport's history and future, and that the agreement underlines the long-term commitment to the country. He also thanked the mayor of Sao Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, and Sao Paulo Grand Prix chief Alan Adler for their continued commitment and investment.
Nunes said the renewal was a significant achievement for the city, pointing to benefits for the economy, jobs and tourism across sectors such as hotels, restaurants and retail. Brazil has produced 33 Formula 1 drivers, including Gabriel Bortoleto and Rafael Camara, who were racing in front of their home crowd that weekend.
