Norris takes pole in Brazil as rain shakes up qualifying
Lando Norris secured pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix after a qualifying session affected by changing conditions and rain. He kept his lap times clean and set his final effort before the rain intensified, prompting hopes of a further wet-weather advantage should conditions remain similar.
Oscar Piastri was unable to complete his final Q2 lap because of red flags and missed out on progressing. He said the priority had been staying calm as the tyres and car came up to temperature, and that the team had more pace in the wet and on intermediates than in the dry.
Antonelli, starting second, could pose more of a challenge for Norris if the race is run in the dry. Norris himself praised the team's work in very difficult conditions, saying the team had managed a tricky session as the track changed rapidly.
