Mercedes clinch 2026 constructors' title in Brazil
Mercedes have secured their ninth Constructors' Championship after George Russell and Kimi Antonelli finished fourth and fifth in Sao Paulo. It is the team's first title since 2021 and draws them level with Williams on nine championships.
Team boss Toto Wolff said he was not in a celebratory mood, explaining that his focus had already moved to why the team underperformed in the race and what needs to change for Las Vegas and 2027. Asked to smile for the cameras, he said it was not his character.
Wolff said he is tied with the late Frank Williams on nine titles, something he never thought possible, and praised the team's determination to find performance in every area while maintaining humility, integrity and respect.
