Mercedes clinch 2026 constructors' title at Sao Paulo
Mercedes have won the Formula 1 constructors' championship for the ninth time after the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Going into the race, the team held a 126-point lead over Ferrari, and Kimi Antonelli and George Russell needed to out-score the Scuderia by only three points to secure the title. Russell finished fourth and Antonelli fifth, scoring 22 points between them, while Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton took seventh and ninth for Ferrari.
The result leaves Mercedes 140 points clear, with 129 still available across the final three races. It is the team's first constructors' title since 2021, ending a run of four titles won by Red Bull and McLaren. Mercedes have also moved level with Williams in third place on the all-time list of F1 constructors' titles.
