Hamilton says he and Leclerc have settled Ferrari tension
Lewis Hamilton has said he and Charles Leclerc have resolved the tension between them after their clash at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where contact on the opening lap cost Ferrari dearly. Max Verstappen went on to win after Leclerc received a five-second penalty for gaining a lasting advantage.
Hamilton said the matter was resolved in a direct conversation between the two drivers rather than through team principal Fred Vasseur, who had already held debriefs with both. Hamilton said they still respected each other and were getting along as normal, adding that he hoped for better races ahead.
Hamilton also reflected on a difficult qualifying session at Interlagos, where heavy rain dominated and a power unit problem forced a change before qualifying. He will start from the back of the grid, while Leclerc starts 14th after a 10-place grid penalty.
