Camara declines to rule out staying at Haas for rest of season
Rafael Camara, who leads the Formula 2 championship, will make his Haas debut at Interlagos this weekend after Esteban Ocon was dropped permanently. The 21-year-old has refused to say whether he will return to Formula 2 or remain in the Haas seat for the remainder of the Formula 1 season.
Reports suggest his Invicta Racing seat in Formula 2 is set to go to Audi junior Freddie Slater, who would be able to prepare early for his own 2027 campaign. Asked about his plans, Camara said: "I think that's something that we'll be discussing after the weekend." He said he was focused on doing a good job in Brazil before deciding what comes next.
Asked whether he would give up a possible Formula 2 title to finish the Formula 1 season, Camara again declined to commit. "This is something that still needs to be discussed," he said.
