Brundle calls Lawson-Verstappen row 'childish' over F1 future
Sky F1 pundit Martin Brundle has said it would be "pathetic" and "childish" if Liam Lawson's collision with Max Verstappen at the Mexican Grand Prix had a direct impact on his Formula 1 future. Lawson and Verstappen were each given a one-place grid penalty after the practice incident, with Verstappen describing it as "not very smart behaviour" while Lawson is negotiating a new deal at Racing Bulls.
Elsewhere, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur revealed he held talks with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc after the Mexican Grand Prix, where Leclerc received a five-second time penalty. Vasseur said Ferrari's guidelines for on-track battles between the pair remain unchanged.
Racing Bulls has signed team principal Alan Permane to a new contract until the end of the 2031 season. Mercedes driver George Russell, meanwhile, will serve a five-place grid penalty at the Brazilian Grand Prix after taking a sixth internal combustion engine of the season.
