Brazilian GP extended to 2035 as Buenos Aires eyes F1 return
Formula 1 has extended its deal to race at Interlagos in Sao Paulo until 2035, a five-year extension announced on Saturday. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali praised Brazil's importance to the sport, saying he was delighted the country would continue to host the race.
Meanwhile, Buenos Aires mayor Jorge Macri travelled to Interlagos to present plans for a $200 million renovation of the Autodromo de Buenos Aires Oscar y Juan Galvez. The project includes a new pit complex, resurfacing and facilities designed to secure the FIA Grade 1 licence required for F1. Macri said the city was working on every necessary step to be ready.
Argentina's ambitions have been boosted by the popularity of Franco Colapinto, while MotoGP is already scheduled to return to Buenos Aires next April. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, said he was disappointed that Spa-Francorchamps has lost its annual slot and will miss the 2028 and 2030 seasons.
