Bortoleto targets points at home Brazilian Grand Prix with Audi
Gabriel Bortoleto heads to Interlagos this weekend after a points finish in Mexico City, looking to score again in front of Brazilian fans. Last year's São Paulo Grand Prix was his first experience of racing at home, and he says the support he received was incredible.
Audi sits on 27 points in the Constructors' standings, four behind seventh-placed Haas. Racing director Allan McNish said the team felt there was more it could have done in Mexico, particularly after Nico Hülkenberg was in contention for points until a late red flag, but praised Bortoleto's recovery to the points despite very limited practice running.
McNish said the focus now is on taking lessons forward and making the most of the opportunities ahead with both cars, with the midfield very competitive.
